Club Periods are an important part of the social fabric of the club and are a good opportunity to meet and play with other club members. Club Periods are open to all members of club standard (both adult and juniors). They take place on both Saturdays and Sundays throughout the year between 2:00-5:00pm in the summer and 1:00-4:00pm in winter. Balls are provided. A tennis member will be available to organise court allocation and ensure the club period runs smoothly and fairly, catering for players at different levels. All tennis members taking part in Club Periods are expected to volunteer to organise at least twice a year.
From May-October a further Club Period takes place on Wednesdays from 6:00-8:00pm. There is no Club Period organiser for this session, members taking part organising play themselves.
Players wanting to join Coolhurst are encouraged to come along to a Club Period, when the organiser will arrange for them to have a game and determine their level of play, so that they can enjoy playing with others of similar standard.
Club Standard of Play
Coolhurst welcomes new members of all levels of play. To be able to enjoy Club Periods, players need to be reasonably experienced and be able to play competitive points. If you are a beginner, or not yet at club level, Coolhurst will make you welcome to join as an Improver and help you meet other members at a similar level.
