In 2012 Coolhurst launched the LTA Mini Tennis Rally Awards together with Performance Squads for all competition age groups. This creates a clear Junior Player Pathway running through from Tots at 3 years old all the way to Yellow Performance at 18 years of age, giving your child the opportunity to achieve their full potential as a tennis player at each stage.

For the U10 programme we have introduced the LTA Mini Tennis Rally Awards, this structure works in similar format to the swimming awards, where there are clear criteria for each group and a structured progress up to the next level. If a child is ready to move up a group they will receive a certificate and a badge before they move to the next level. Each child receives a Mini Tennis t-shirt for participating on the programme and effort stickers through-out the term. The LTA Mini Tennis Rally Awards allows for a clear structure for the coaching sessions and a pathway for kids to make real improvements in their tennis. There will be a number of opportunities for the children to participate in competition within the sessions and organised match play sessions.

The 11+ programme has specific beginner, improver and advanced sessions on offer and a performance programme that splits into U12 and U14 groups with strength and conditioning programmes to be incorporated in January. There is Junior Club Night run (during term time) on Fridays 6.30-8pm and internal match play on Sundays.

Also, for the first time the club introduced a tots programme for 3 to 4 year olds. The Tots sessions are designed for the children to learn the basics and how to enjoy the game through a series of fun activities based on the fundamental areas of balance, coordination, agility, movement and sending and receiving skills.

Non-members are welcome to participate in the programme but children who are members of the Club pay a discounted price for the coached session. An annual membership at Coolhurst for a child who is 12 or under is £65 and it is £120 for 13 to 18 year olds. Membership benefits include the right to attend Friday night Junior Club Night, Sunday morning match plays and to compete for the Club teams and enter into club tournaments. Junior members are also entitled to the use of tennis courts at allocated times and to play squash and table tennis.
