First team match report
Princes - May 2006
Verdict
A great start to the summer season for the Coolhurst boys, fielding a very strong club side with depth and consistency apparent throughout the order. Dispatched a reasonable and well mannered Princes side (apart from the number 1) 4-1 with a degree of ease.
Nick Buckley
Result: Lost 2-3
Plus's: Great squash, nicks from everywhere.
Minus's:Blew another 2-0 lead, fitness, ticker issues.
Verdict: A good performance from the recently injured youngster against the cantankarous Hyatt, displayed many fine touches throughout the match and despite blowing a 2-0 lead and losing the 4th and 5th 8/10 9/10 did enough to justify his recently elevated position in the side. Expect more classy displays from this one.

Neil Rossin
Result: Won 3-1
Plus's: Fitness.
Minus's: Ability to play a drop shot and dropping a game.
Verdict: A good start to the season, but really not challenged in this match. Undoubtedly will come up against much stronger opposition as the season continues. Was let off lightly on this occasion but really shouldn't have lost a game. Will surely want to impress the crowds with some/any kind of shot making in his last season for the North London club?

Ally McGill
Result: Won 3-1
Plus's: Didn't keel over on court, kept going.
Minus's: Laziness, drop shots, showed a distinct lack of urgency.
Verdict: After a very slow and lethargic looking start the skipper finally pulled the finger out and dispatched the Prince with reasonable ease. Looked (and by own admission felt) pretty out of sorts throughout but all the pre Hong Kong court sprints have paid off as the captain finally has some fitness to fall back on.
Rating: 2/5
Richard Gourlay
Result: Won 3-1
Plus's: Didn't lose, fitness.
Minus's: consistent hacking,
Verdict: A wonderful quote from the Rozza after the first game, 'You are the Coolhurst Club Champion, its time you started playing like it!' sums up the brazen Gourlay's performance. At least managed to stop thumping the ball through the front wall after the first.
Rating: 1/5
Peter Baird
Result: Won 3-0
Plus's: Won without dropping a game - otherwise match finished rather quickly
Minus's: Speed despite being thin as a rake, ability to hit the tin with incredible frequency
Verdict: Peter hasn't looked on top form since returning from texas. His desire to win is not matched yet by his ability to win. This opponent not up to much compared to what is to come for the rest of the season. Gets point for winning - not the manner of the win.
